As a speech and language pathologist (SLP), my goal is to empower you to help your child grow in communication with others. Not all children are the same, and every child develops, learns, and grows in different ways. What works for some children might not work for others, so please keep that in mind when taking my advice and using my recommended activities. My personal goal is for these activities to support your child’s’ development in their natural environment (at home with you), but for individualized treatment strategies please consult your child’s doctor or ongoing therapist.

In my blog posts, I often share Amazon.com links to products that I have found to be helpful in purposeful play. I only will share the products that I find are beneficial to purposeful play.

As an ASHA-certified and Indiana-licensed SLP, Alissa Hughes adheres to all HIPAA requirements and will not discuss or share personal family information with others. All pictures and videos of children are shared with the family’s permission. Alissa Hughes does not share pictures or videos without the family’s consent. We reserve the right to change this policy at any time.

When you visit the website, the only data that we collect is if you voluntarily provide it to us:

At some point, you might wish to restrict the use and collection of your personal data. You can do this by contacting us via email and we will be more than happy to remove your email and other contact information from our file.
